Should I cancel this app? (gallbladder)

I had a scan in August which showed I had gallbladder sludge, it was giving my problems about 3 times a week, it got to the stage I was only eating toast then it got so bad I survived on Lucozade and pain killers for 10 days.

At the end of August and after 2 weeks of feeling like death warmed up I woke up feeling human again and my appetite came back. I can now eat normal again and anything I choose.

I've got a app with a surgeon next month which will be to discuss having my sludge removed.....but I'm now fine so I don't want to waste the surgeons time.

Keep the appointment. They can go through the options that are available so you can make an informed decision. Even if that decision is not to do anything, you will know what options you have in the future if it plays up again.

I say this as a gallbladder surgeon - wonder if you'll turn up in my clinic??

Keep the appointment. Discuss the options, and take their advice. I say this as someone who ignored niggles for years, then ignored breath-taking pain for another year, then ended up with an infected gallbladder. Don't do that. It bloody hurt.

Enjoy the fact you're feeling better at the moment though - that's a bonus Smile

Go, before you end up with an infection, end up with an emergency admission and feel like you will never get out (see my current thread for details) far better to get it looked at before you feel ill

Thanks, I'll keep the appointment then. I did end up in a&e one night as the pain was constant, that was when I went 10 days without eating.

I was just worried the surgeon would think I was making a fuss for nothing Grin
