What does a trapped nerve feel like?

I have had an annoying pain in my mid back, left hand side for about 2 days now. Sitting still, it is fine but as soon as I move (in ANY direction) I get a sharp pain that feels a bit like I have been electrocuted! Could it be a trapped nerve? I've never had one and not had any pain that feels like this before. Any tips?

Have you got pins and needles, or tingling anywhere as well?

Hi taxi no pins and needles or tingling...just electocutions every time I move!

sounds more like a muscle spasm? my trapped nerves generally start with the pins and needles in the hands/arm before moving further up
