Help!!! Tickly cough cures needed!!!

I am absolutely exhausted and my throat is agony of coughing! Everytime I start to drift I start coughing! I've tried cough medicine, dark chocolate, ice cubes, drinks etc ec.
Any miracle cures would be very much appreciated!!

Spoonful of honey?
Codeine linctus?
Sleeping sitting quite elevated?
Tried these?

I always find that breathing in something menthol helps like olbus oil, seems to sooth your throat and stop the tickle

What's codeine linctus serenity? The rest I've tried apart from the honey as I've got none This is like torture, throat is killing!!

It's a liquid form of codeine that is pretty potent.
I'd try pholcodine first. It's fake codeine basically. You should be able to get it from the chemist.
I have chronic bronchitis and reoccurring pneumonia and it stops me coughing.

Benylin for chesty coughs - this is the only thing that will stop a fit of dry, tickly cough.

For me, that is I don't understand why, but it works!

I second the recommendation of pholcodine linctus. Unlike many cough "medicines" that simply soothe your throat for a few seconds, it acts on the central nervous system to actually suppress the coughing reflex. I was given it by a pharmacist last year and it was far more effective than anything I have used before.

Superdrug's Bronchial Balsam worked for me and DH when nothing else did. Still can't understand how as it's pretty innocuous.

Thanks for all your replies, well in the end I took two codeine and it pretty much worked instantly! Think I was so exhausted that as soon as the cough was slightly suppressed I was knocked out lol. Hoping that's the worst of it over with!
I appreciate all your replies tho, I was nearly demented with the bloody cough and my throat couldn't handle much more!!!
