Abscess came up on my gumline on Friday, not been too painful but my cheek has become swollen. Taken paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with any pain but on the whole it's been ok. Couldn't sleep and so have got up and gum was aching so I've sat with a sweet corn ice pack on my cheek which has helped with the pain however as I've held it on just now the abscess has popped.... What do I do? I've cleaned the area as best as possible, rinsed with mouthwash, what will happen next? Will the abscess fill up again? How soon do I need to get to the dentist? Do I still need to to if it's popped? Have a big flappy bit of skin on my top gumline now...
