Really tired and really cold - why?

Every day at about 7 pm I am overcome by such extreme tiredness that I can't stay awake.
About 15 minutes before it happens I start to feel really really cold (today I had dressing gown over my clothes and a blanket and the heating is on) and then I get hit by the tiredness, it sounds strange but I can't stay awake. I usually nap for about half an hour, then wake up and feel a bit groggy for half an hour and then i am fine.

Is this normal? does everyone feel like this at some point during the day?

I get the v tired and v cold thing a lot. Mine is linked to anaemia and low blood pressure.

The feeling cold is probably caused by the feeling tired - when I hit some sort of tiredness threshold, I'm always freezing.

How much quality sleep do you get? How's your diet? If there's no obvious cause for the exhaustion you should go and see your GP.

Get average amount of sleep about 7 or 8 hours and diet is ok.
I have spoken to the doctor because I have thyroid problems which are controlled by medication. He said everyone gets a bit tired sometimes - I don't think I put across that the tired is more can not stay awake rather than fancy a nap!

I was going to say, sounds like thyroid. Your GP isn't responsive enough to your situation, sounds like placatory generalisations instead of genuine exploration.
