Sore throat and virus

I've had a horrible virus that started with a sore throat and was a bit flu like with a cough. Two weeks on and I feel better but have a sore throat in the evenings. Have stupidly Dr googled it and am now convinced it's something sinister! Has anyone else had this and in should a sore throat last this long? By the way my tonsils have been removed. Thanks.

The best natural health product I have ever take, by a country mile, is the natural antibiotic - grapefruit seed extract. I've always found that, taken (as directed) through a straw, to be very good at tackling sore throats and the like. That might be worth a try.

Have you got the central heating on? That can cause dryness in the throat.
So make sure you keep yourself properly hydrated.

I've got that virus too. Nothing really specific symptom-wise except the evening sore throat and general lethargy. Sometimes coughing or sneezing, achy joints and a bit shivery, but not bad enough to be flu. It's been about a month now and it's annoying. I'd rather be decently ill for a few days then better, this general malaise is tiresome.

Knight thanks for that tip. Inmysparetime, it really is an annoying virus. General malaise still, 3 weeks later and a cough that keeps me awake. This is the first night of very slight sore throat! At last.
