Has the needle size changed this year?

Can any nurses, pharmacists or doctors advise?

Looks the same size to me. I've given quite a few with no complaints.

It hurt less than last year's.

Maybe the needle is sharper!

There is a thread on 'chat' that claims the needle is bigger for those going to pharmacists.

Mine didn't hurt and didn't leave a mark never mind a bruise.

I'm not asking about people's reactions.
Do the doctors' carry different stock (and perhaps needle size) to the stock flu jabs that are available in 'say' Tesco and other supermarkets?

Why? Are you needle phobic?

Well dh and I plus my two boys all had ours done at Tesco the boys however had a different brand to the one we had. We had to wait for the boys to be delivered into the store. needle size was the same and none of us bruised

Nurse probably apologised as some people are better than others at getting blood. This year, nurse had two tries (plus apology), yet phlebotomist doing mine daily a few years ago was always pain-free, never bruised etc. I doubt its anything to do with needles.

OP- I've had several flu jabs over the years -in Boots- sometimes there is a tiny bit of blood, other times none and my arm is always sore for about 2 days afterwards. Nothing to do with the needle size, more to do with where they put the needle.

Yummy, that makes sense. But but but, if they are stabbing into a largeish arm muscle, does that mean they're missing?

Sorry for sounding like a seven (okay three) year old child. Genuinely curious.
