Hi

So having only ever had 3 or 4 periods a year pre baby (DS now 11mths) don't even ask how I actually conceived ShockGrin

My body has "righted" itself and I now have monthly periods. However, I do appear to have a touch of PMT, severe rage, emotionally state a few days leading up to period.

Any suggestions on supplements, diet etc .... (Before I fucking stab someone Confused)

Last time I was at the pmt clinic (it was a while ago) they recommended taking calcium.

I've had to investigate this as I get quite severe post menstrual tension! (I have to be different!) I've been recommended vitamin b6, evening primrose oil or Angus castus (sp?).

Only tried the last one so far, seems to be helping a bit.

Sorry to bring you down, I've tried them all. Not going to recommend any.

I was on a trial looking at remedies for pmt and this is what I was told to take: Evening primrose oil, b6, magnesium, zinc, calcium and good mult vit and oil capsule. Eat healthily and every 3-4 hours, not too many carbs, sugar or salt. Try to keep to a routine and get a good night sleep, minimise stress inducing situations.

I have severe PMT , getting worse the older I get . I tried various natural methods , none of them worked .
After loads of thought I decided to try Prozac , ten days in the lead up to the start of my period and two days afterwards .... Absolutely fantastic !

JiltedJohnsJulie · 20/10/2014 09:24

I was prescribed Prozac but was allergic to the stuff. Really wish it had worked though as my PMT was that bad I was desperate.

Reactions to it are pretty rare though so its probably worth trying Smile

Blimey .... Confused I'm already on Sertraline AD for PND but actually slowly weaning off now, so it could be a combination of that.

So do you take Prozac every day?? Or just in the lead up to period?

Hi , just the lead up to my period , 10 days prior . I have found it really helpful .
