Go back to your GP and get a prescription for the thrush.

Go back to your GP and tell him it hasn't worked and you need something else/stronger.

If you take the oral tablet plus the pessary it will shift it.

Chloebrown94 · 14/10/2014 19:27

Okay thankyou my dr is giving me a call tomorrow, do you have any advice on experience with the copper coil?

The bleeding and the thrush are probably not connected.

When I had my coil fitted I was warned that it could cause spotting for up to three months... Did they not warn you about bleeding?

Chloebrown94 · 14/10/2014 19:33

They warned me about spotting but Iv had continous heavy bleeding for 3 weeks. But my dr advised me to go back on my old pill so I hope that will stop aswell

I'll share how I got rid naturally.
Garlic!
I used to get thrush quite often, prescribed stuff stopped working a long time ago and during a rather nasty bout earlier this year, I looked at natural remedies and found out about the garlic.
You must be sure it's thrush, it can work for BV too.

Take a clove, peel it and insert it. Yes you read that right :)

Now, you can make some kind of cover with cheesecloth or muslin for it to make it easier to recover but I didn't have any so just popped it inside as deep as I could. At that point I was so desperate and sore if someone had recommended a hedgehog I'd have tried :)
It can't go anywhere except the bit at the very top of the vagina, past the cervix - there's a kind of void so if it goes there you've got to hook it out with clean fingers - sitting on the loo or squatting is best to recover.
I inserted it for an hour to see if it would irritate or sting - it didn't so I left it in overnight. I removed it in the morning and put a fresh one back at night again.
I also made up a crushed clove in cooled boiled water to bathe my outer bits with and done so every few hours.
3 days and I was completely clear, it's the best thing I've ever ever used. Plus I've not had thrush again since. When/if I do it'll be the garlic I reach for not the canestan.
I'm not sure if you'd manage to keep the clove inside if you're bleeding, I'd imagine it would come out with the flow.

You can leave the clove as is or to make it more potent you can make nicks on it. I done one nick on the side.
Weirdly you can taste garlic in your mouth but your fanjo doesn't give off a garlic smell - I kept asking DH if I smelled.

Google around some home remedy/natural websites and you'll see for yourself if you decide you want to try.

Hope you get relief soon, thrush is the absolute fucking pits.

Thankyou!! I'm speaking to my doctor today to get a pessery and tablet see if that works of not I'll try your idea. Will let you know :)

The doctors gave me a pessery and cream, I used the pessery last night before bed and now I have a pinkish discharge is that normal?

CarbeDiem · 17/10/2014 09:32

It's probably the melted pessary mixed with some blood that was hanging around. Keep an eye on it.

Chloebrown94 · 17/10/2014 11:35

It has gone now I just have white discharge now

Ask to have a mirena coil . I bled constantly with a copper coil and was agony, just very occasional spotting and no periods with the mirena.
