Migraine (again)

On and off since Monday. I have been through every migraine thread on here and done the lot. Finished my tryptans, don't know if chemist will sell me any more and GP not in till Monday now....dissolved aspirin in full fat coke, (3 times, and it did alleviate it and turn it into a "normal" headache but after the aspirin wears off it comes back) Been to bed with cold compresses, lavender oil, olbas oil, had my head over boiling water (helps while head is over saucepan, but not a good look in the classroom) Am now fed up and at wit's end.

In cupboard I have ibuprofen, co-codamol and bog standard paracetomol.

Any suggestions? Or combinations thereof that won't actually kill me?

You have my sympathies, I am going through a bad time with migraine at the moment too. I don't have any advice re the drugs as I am trying to be drug free as I was taking ibrufen more days than not and I realised that this could have contributed to my problem.

I am trying to work out what my triggers are and realising that I am really very sensitive e.g if I don't drink enough water I can feel a headache start, I am sensitive to bright lights not just when I am having an attack, it can bring one onnso i have purchase decent polarised sunglasses. I have also had to stop using my tablet at night or I will wake up with a headache in the morning. And no more alcohol Sad, I have to watch my posture too. I am running out of life's little pleasures but gaining some control over my migraines.

Hello- yes I think mine this week has been brought on a bit by being too long in front of a screen, preparing syllabus stuff, and a bit of stress (teaching an age group I've never done and( didn't want to!) before)

I might send dp out for another box of aspirin when he gets home as that definitely seemed to do the trick more than the ibuprofen.

My Mum is always convinced that taking too many pills makes headaches worse, and given how many I've been shovelling in this week, she may be right. I also took a fair few last week for a swollen knee. I'm rattling and falling apart generally! Hey ho.

Taking a lot of painkiller can lead to rebound headaches and it really is worth looking at this if you are taking a lot.

Stress management is also an aspect that I'm trying to address - I have self prescribed St Johns Wort and evening primrose, it makes me feel like I'm doing something positive anyway. For me a huge aspect is taking control of the whole condition rather than being a passive victim.

On the bright side its the weekend - a whole two days off Grin stay away from screens and give your eyes a rest unless you have a massive amount of prep work that is
