Anti inflammatory diet ?

Hi , I'm now 4 weeks postpartum and have psoriatic arthritis . I've had pretty much a period of 9 months grace when I was pregnant ( it was fantastic) but now the symptoms are coming back Hmm

I take anti inflammatory drugs for this but was wondering if anyone had followed an anti inflammatory diet and whether or not you noted a difference at all ?

I haven't tried an anti inflammatory diet so not much help, but I have recently discovered the GAPS diet and I am in the process of reading about it. It mentions arthritis so might be something you could look into.

Look into lectins in food. Seems they can contribute to inflammation.

Thanks :) I'll have a look at both !

Hi yes, I'm loosely following a primal diet but mainly trying to eat clean. No processed foods, legumes, sugars or grain. I have noticed a big difference and if I cheat, I feel worse pretty much straight away.
It is hard initially but gets easier. The reward is how much better you feel.

Great to hear it's made a difference, are you on medication as well if you don't mind me asking?

Think I'll start cod liver oil tablets again as well and see if that helps .

I have a different history to you, I'm recovering from encephalitis (brain inflammation). So I'm on drugs relevant for that. My pain is worse if I stray too far from the diet though.
Cod liver oil is a good idea too.
Have a look on the diet and lifestyle threads. I feel sure there will some relevant threads there for you.

Apparently bromelain is good anti inflammatory too. It is in pineapple but can get supplements
