i'm stumped - I'm still bfing, he has little or no dairy. No allergies in fam except dh's hay fever/cat allergy. Put nothing but water on kitc towel on his face to gently bathe him but seems to be getting worse. Not had citrus/strawberries or dairy today for example. Any ideas?

Does he lick around his mouth? That can cause the skin to be really dry, sore and look rashy - they sometimes call it "lick eczema".

Dd used to lick around her mouth, and made it horribly sore. The pharmacist recommended smothering it with Vaseline, which she hated but which really helped. She still does it a bit now, and we still use the Vaseline.

The pharmacist did say that they can start cold-sores off that way ... I have no idea if that's true or not though. Even if it were cold sores, though, she only recommended Vaseline.

Get the pharmacist to have a look, he or she might have some ideas.

right, thanks.I'lltry that then. I know it's not serious exactly but looks so sore for him and had a while now.
