Hi , i suffer with health anxiety and am terrified i have a SC ..

I have many moles got them checked 3 weeks ago at a clinic and saw dermitologist , all were fine , they checked the brown ones , but a 2 weeks ago i must have scratched one on my chest , its not brown its pinky/peachy in colour , iv not noticed it before but do now (self checking constantly), when i wake in morning it looks flat and faint so thats prob why iv never noticed before as i get changed and off i go , i am always on guard for the darker ones , its not bleeding , itchy , flaky , bleeding just a smooth moley bump peachy/pink , not concave or cratered ...
just terrified its a SC i googled few pics and went on clinic web site , cant see pic exactly like it but did say one type of SC can similar to what i have described ...

im so scared ..
has anyone any experience on this or posative advice ...
iv managed to get an appointment with my clinic this wednesday to get him to check it , but im still in bits with worry ..

many thanks for reading x

First of all calm down. skin cancer tends to appear if the skin has been burned or over exposed to the sun. has yours?

why are you being looked at so often anyway- have you had skin cancer already?

There are also many types of skin cancer, so don't go googling because you may not even be looking at the 'right' type.

Skin cancerous moles are usually:
irregular in shape
have a black spot or dark patches within them
itch
bleed
change shape
grow

skin cancer is not usually pink or peach- this sounds like a spot or even a tiny cyst of some sort or even blocked pores.

even if it WAS skin cancer it would be highly treatable and it's certainly not melanoma.

what is being done for your anxiety?

hi pin thank you for reply , No no sC in past , i did burn my chest as a teenager , am freckly so this is why i get checked every 6 months ( my own peace of mind ) i says out of the sun at all times if i can.

its not any of the above although maybe has grown as i never really focused on it before , but as i said , in the morning its flat and fainter then presume once i get warm it looks pinky/peachy in colour ..

i am doing a but of CBT for anxiety ...and thats it , my doctore wants me to try ADs but im terrified of side effects ...

I had an itch on my jawline, scratched and saw blood. Got home and noticed an uneven mole that I'd never even noticed before. The surgeon cut it out and I've had no problems. I also have a raised one on the side of my cheek like yours, I forget the words he used but it was a mole that had the word 'wart' in! Bleurgh. Harmless. But get yours checked out for your own sanity.
