Stinky head cold and immune boosting tips.

Had this for a few days. Worse than your average cold but not flu. Just feel like my heads full of stuffing and snotty tired and bleeuugh generally.
I know it will go, but I'm self employed, if I don't work I don't get paid. I've lost a few hours work because of the cold. I'm taking paracetamol, lots of hot lemon and ginger cordial, early nights etc.
Anyone got any immunity boosting tips? I'm also in process of getting my mum out of a nursing home back into her own home, so again, need to be A1 so don't give her anything nasty....

I've just had this too, and I don't usually get many colds, but this was a bad one! it's been a week and I'm just coming round, but I was wiped out for days.

All I can suggest is be good to yourself, rest, take paracetamol, lots of water and lemon and ginger tea, inhale with olbas oil in hot water with a towel over your head, drink freshly squeezed lemon juice in hot water with honey, take some vitamin c. I'm also taking Sudafed congestion relief capsules, as otherwise I end up with sinus problems.

Unfortunately it's a virus and there's nothing much you can do.

Hope you feel better soon.

After ages of catching any cild that was going, I was recommended to try an old remedy: first thing in the morning, a crushed raw clove of garlic, followed by a glass of water. I could rally feel it burning away the germs. I don't do it everyday, but occasionally now, when i feel i need an immune system boost, a week or so of this really works for me. Hope you find what works for you,

there's no way to boost your immune system any more than you can boost your metabolism. You need to eat healthily, look after yourself with a bit of exercise, wash hands regularly and stay away from those who have colds or flu.

for the cold itself, do what you are doing; look after yourself, treat the symptoms and wait.
