Hi,

I hope someone has got a magic cure for this, it is driving me crazy.

I have got a water infection and have been drinking cranberry juice all day which hasn't worked.

Does anyone know of any other remedies I can take while I am breastfeeding? DS is 19 months now.

Thanks in desparation!
Curly.

GP can prescribe antibiotics that are safe whilst BFing. Just make sure he knows that you are BFing.

Curly, you can take bicarb of soda,to neutralise acid.
Post again in b/feeding section so one of our experts can help.

It is weird that whenever I have some problem or other, someone else on mumsnet always has the same problem!!! Actually I had this trouble over the weekend - recurring urinary infections - and on Monday the doctor prescribed my usual Trimethoprim antibiotics; apparently they do go through into the breastmilk but not in a harmful way.

Hope it gets better soon - it makes you really miserable doesn't it?

Agree that there are antibiotics you can take when breastfeeding. Your doctor will have the Big Magic Book that tells him/her which ones.
