Am I imaging this pain?

I went my gp recently with a hip problem I've had for years (I posted on gets about it and was encouraged to go) I've been referred to see a physio, currently waiting for contact.
Now I don't know if I'm going a little mad or paranoid, but I feel in much more pain since going! I don't know if before I was just ignoring it, thinking it was normal, or what but now my hip is hurting almost every day and other joints too! Today for example, I had work training in Bristol, about 2 hours in total away, I got home earlier than expected so had a little nap.
Getting up my finger joints ache, my hips and my knees and ankles a little.
Please tell me I'm not going mad! Have I just opened some pain gates & I'm listening to my body more? Or could I be imaging it?
I'm 30 btw and otherwise in good physical health.

I doubt you are imagining it. But worry can make pain worse, for sure. So maybe seeing the doctor upped your anxiety, which has made you tense up....hence more pain.

But that's not the same as imagining it.

Thank you Helena. I'm a pretty chilled out person normally but it's hard not too worry about it! x
