The external wound is fine, but am getting sharp stabbing pains just behind it IYSWIM. I have been a bit naughty, and have been lifing more than I probably should (although I can't really avoid it, as have a very heavy 21 month old DS)

The pain is just on the one side, but it bloody hurts whenever I stand up. Have I done something to my wound do you think?

Are the pains there all the time or are they intermittent? I had intermittent sharp pain for ages after both of my c/s - it was always a sign that I had over-exerted myself. In fact I still get the odd niggle now (dd is 15 months).

If it's been going on for a while or it's more continuous and rest doesn't help it, I would get back in touch with the midwife, even if you've been signed off by her.

Did you have disolvable stiches? if so it could just be the knot on the end causing the pains as it is the last part to dissolve.

That could be it. I never had anything like this after my previous CS. Just worrying a bit as I have been lifting DS alot.

You can tell if the knot is still there, you can feel a lump is you press down on it.
