Hi due to have one tomorrow, about to start colon Klean stuff, I am petrified, I know some people find it horrendous and others ok, what I am concerned about it watching them do it, the hospital consultant is convinced I have diverticula disease and he is probably right, I have IBS and all my symptoms match and after taking colpermin and fybogel the pain has virtually gone, so a flare up we think, but a tiny part of me knows it may be something more sinister and that is what is frightening me more than the process, you always hear that with cancer you have no pain until it is well advanced and sometimes too late. I want to have the procedure but when tomorrow comes I am worried I will be a big wimp, cry or even worse be sick. Anyone had one and lived to tell the tale.

I have. The colon Klean and effects from it was much worse than the procedure itself which really doesn't take long.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply in process of Klean now, not going too badly so less worried now, just sick of orange squash.

I have. The worry and prep is the worse bit. I had sedation and it was really helpful. Had no discomfort. You will be fine.

I found the prep the worst part.

Use vasaline on your bumhole before it gets sore rather than when it is. Or if you can rinse your bum rather than wiping it would be better.

gamerchick · 17/09/2014 10:06

And if you go no sedation lie on your back after the cameras been put in as it's more comfortable than lying on your side.

Good luck.

Well, I did it and yes the prep was worst part, did not know you could wee out of your bum as that what it felt like lol. Can't remember much about procedure and just feel a bit yucky today, have been diagnosed with diverticula disease which is great as I had convinced myself of something different, now can work on diet and get life back on track. Thanks for your kind words

Thanks for the update. I hope you feel tip top soon.

Hi youngatheart

That's great to hear that it wasn't as bad as you thought. Glad you have a plan to hopefully get your life back.

Can I ask what your symptoms are/were? I have bowel troubles and waiting on GI app.x
