discoid lupus

my mum has recently had a huge outbreak of raised red, intensly itchy rashes all over her upper torso, they started like ringworm, target shaped hot rashes, and quickly spread.

her whole face is covered, though she has no other immediate symptoms.

her dermatological consultant is suggesting discoid lupus, but everything i am reading on this is that the rashes do not itch.

The rash is not just over her cheeks, it is spreading over her lips, and into her nose :(

it looks to virulent to be psoriasis.

she is awaiting biopsy results.

If you have rashes to they itch?

By coincidence I was chatting only today to a neighbour who has this condition. She itches too, so your mum is not the only one, I hope she gets better soon!

Lupus rashes do itch, I understand. Maybe not always but often or at least some of the time.
