I visited my GP about 3 months ago as I was permanently exhausted, suffer headaches that last about 3-5 days at least once a month and feel completely drained when my period starts.
She was great, arranged blood tests for practically everything; hormones, including thyroid, liver and kidney function, diabetes, iron, everything. They all came back fine ("couldn't be more normal"). But on that first appointment she suggested I take the mini pill as it may control my periods and eventually they may stop and that may help with the feeling tired. So I got some Cerelle.
Have taken two packets so far and am a week into my third packet. I had a weird period first of all, bit long winded and very 'brown' rather than 'red'. Anyhow, it came and went and I continued with the pill. Then I got another period about 27 days later on 19 August. I am still bleeding. Waaaahhhh! It's been over 3 weeks and I am thoroughly pissed off with it. It's still more 'brown' but with occasional 'red' days. I have to wear a tampon, a panty liner wouldn't be sufficient.
I never went to the GP originally to go on the pill, and I am now losing faith in this drug. I saw another GP (male) last week who said to keep going with it and it could settle down in the coming weeks. But really, is this normal?(whatever the F that means). I feel like coming off of it, but wonder if I am so close to it settling down, maybe I should continue.
What do you guys reckon?
