Hi,

I am having blood tests repeated to see if my thyroid is still high. Gp has said if it is then I have to go on tablets but I can not bf whilst taking them.
My ds is 3 months old i really do not want to stop bf so soon. Does anyone know if there are other tablets or things I could do/take so I could carry on bf?

Tia

Is this a result of your pregnancy, or have you had it before?

Hi sunny,
I don't know I have suffered symtoms, since I was 13, now 31,, but no one has listened to me before now.

I only ask because I had an overactive thyroid which was caused by my second pregnancy. It was picked when ds2 was 4 months, and I was in a real state.

I had regular blood tests, and my levels dropped until they were underactive for a couple of months (at around 8 months) and the settled at normal. Apparently it was auto-immune and would happen again if I had another pregnancy.

In my case medication wouldnt have helped, but I am convinced that breast feeding actually made my symptoms worse Sad . (fed until 7.5 months).

Ah ok sunny, maybe time will help then.

Go said she would refer me to endo if blood is still high so I can ask then. I just tight I would ask here as I often see thyroid posts.

Thanks for replying
