Toothache after filling?

Had a filling done on Monday, well actually it was to replace an existing filling. Think dentist drilled down pretty deep and said it was now more filling than tooth and it's possible it will be sensitive and may need root canal treatment or removal in future if it's a problem.

I've had toothache since it's been done, not really painful and haven't needed pain killers but nervous to eat on that side now and worried that it is going to stay like this. But frustrated tbh as I wasn't having any pain before the dentist decided to drill out old filling.

Is this normal after a filling, will it get better?

Is it a molar? I had the same after a large filling and rang the dentist. She said it was normal and the pain did go after a few days.

Yes it is a molar. Hopefully it will get back to normal soon.

I had this, and it took a huge long time to settle but finally did thankfully. Seems that the nerves get upset and take a very long time to settle.

How are you feeling today?

Seems a little better today so hopefully it's not going to become a big problem. Thanks :)
