hi
im a bit confused.ive been on the pill for quite a while now after coming off the injection as i bled nearly all the time throughout it.every month im regular as clockwork.i take the last tablet on the thursday and the sunday morning i start bleeding.im now 2 weeks into my next packet of pills, im on Loestrin 20 combined pill and i still havent bled at all.ive done a pregnancy test which was negative about a week ago and my breasts are heavier, stomach bloated, headache and tiredness etc.not sure if this is because i havent had the bleed or a sign that the test was wrong.on both my other pregnancies i didnt show up positive until around 12 weeks with home tests.they had to do blood tests on me.
has anyone else been on the pill and had this? is it normal.month before there was only very slight amount for around half a day and then nothing again.could my pill not be working properly? or too well!!
any advice gratefully received.

thanks.ive been on it for a while now, probably since the beginning of the year if not before.it just seems to be getting lighter and lighter and this month nothing.i was on it before i had the children and i cant remember why i came off it.not too sure if when i was on a different pill i had similar symptoms but without the loss of bleeding.i'll have to do another test i suppose and go see the doc next week.my stomach just seems so bloated and hard.we'll see.ive been careful on the pill so i shouldnt be pregnant but there's always a chance so i'll just have to wait and see.

I was on Loestrin 20 a few yrs ago and had the same experience on it....my periods got lighter & lighter until I stopped having them altogether. This freaked me out at the time coz I was used to having the usual withdrawal bleed every month(ie. was worried that I was pg when I didnt want to be!) and pg tests were always negative (& were right by the way). My doc reassured me that it was fine & most women are pleased not to have a bleed every month but I ended up asking to be put on another pill for peace of mind. Doc said it was due to the v low levels of hormones in this particular pill that the withdrawal bleed stops. I'm no expert but maybe you're having a similar experience?

thankyou.its a relief to know that someone else has had this.im hoping that thats all it is, dont know what i'll do though as i cant carry on looking 3 months pregnant and feeling like this everyday just to have no period.i'll have to see what the doc recommends.i cant go on the higher dose ones as my mum had a deep vein thrombosis and they'll only put me on this low one.i dont get on with the mini pill or the injection and i dont want a coil so i'll have to see what they say.it might settle down after a couple of months and just have the no period bit.i'll make an appointment before im due on again.thanks again.did you get the bloatyness and heavy breasts etc?

Hiya

Im take Yasmin and this month have completely skipped a period. The doctor said it can happen and not to worry about it, she did a pregnancy test which was negative. I am not at all concerned about it, its not the first time its happened. Lucky me!

Bloatedness yes, heavy boobs no but then I never had this even when pg!!! (so probably not the best person to compare to.) Hope the bad symptoms die down soon & then you can be happy w/o the monthly bleed. I wasn't on it long enough to say for sure, I asked to change coz I needed the reassurance of the monthly bleed at the time. Hope it works out for you xx
