I took some heavy duty antibiotics and now I am left with oral thrush and it's agony. I have some diflucan to take daily but things don't seem to be improving. Can anyone who has had this before please let me know what worked for you - I am suffering Sad.

I have had it reoccurring so can sympathise. I used the cream from the chemist it took about a week to go.

Hope it clears up soon

thanks. It's the most hideous experience ever! Do you remember what cream? I am currently sucking garlic and it is actually helping with the pain.

It was daktarin oral cream. It might also be worth getting some pro biotic yogurt to kick start the good stuff the anti biotics has killed

Thanks again.

I had this on chemo, I sympathise it's horrid ! I had nystatin from the GP which got rid of it in a few days

Thanks malteserzz. Hope you are feeling better. I am off to docs tomorrow, off the shelves are not helping.

Another vote for Daktarin oral gel here too. I got it from the doctor. I had awful oral thrush after 3 courses of antibiotics from the dentist, my toungue looked brown/black and hairy in ther centre aswell, it was horrible. Daktarin cleared it up in about a week and it tastes nice and 'clean' too, kind of lemony :) so not too bad to apply. Good luck.

I had nystatin drops. Cleared it quickly - major improvements within two days.

Nystatin too, you have my sympathies, it's horrid :(

Well I am still suffering but it's getting better day by day. I wouldn't wish this on anyone and I mean anyone. What a horrible thing to get.

With the layer of gunk you get... did it just come off, I tried peeling it off but the pain and bleeding stopped me in my tracks.
