Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome?

SirRaymondClench · 30/08/2014 17:12

I have had about 5-6 episodes of severe vomiting in the past 4 months. The first few ones were all within a few weeks of each other then nothing for a while and now it has started up again.
It's always the same pattern of events - at night, feeling rough before it then the vomiting starts (every 10 mins) and pain in my stomach and then diarrhea, and it goes on for several hours until it stops altogether and then I have a couple of days of recovery. I have tried to think of anything that is causing it ie food allergies, bugs - nothing!
After the last couple of times I decided to go to the Dr and he is doing some blood tests and will look at whether it is acid causing it or thyroid?
Google seems to suggest CVS but there doesn't seem to be a cause or cure for this Sad
Do any MNers have this?

I used to have CVS, but never had stomach pain and diarrhea with it. I'd wake up in the morning feeling really hot and weird, then start vomiting for hours - up to 24 - passing out in between. It was vile, and eventually started to be classical migraine instead which is easier to manage

Thanks for your reply Dibbler
It's awful isn't it? Sad
I have read online that it can be known as a stomach migraine, sounds about right to me.
I get a lot of problems with sensitivity to bright lights (have to wear sunglasses a lot) which I had put down to hormones and my age. I wonder if this will progress to classic migraines with me then. Do you still get any sickness at all?

Yes, but I get enough warning of a migraine to take medication and stop the whole thing. Early on Migraleve works, if I'm a bit later than the Sumpitran works wonders
