Hi everyone, I'd welcome some extra opinions before I bother the gp!
Having never been stung by a wasp before, I've stood on two in the last month (different feet. Stripy terrorists)
Both times my foot came out in hives, and within an hour my foot, ankle and shin swelled to double the size, so that I could no longer move my toes or flex my ankle as there was just too much puff in the way. Also blimmin sore.
Both times went to the ooh gp who said it was infected and gave antibiotics. The first time it went down after a week, I'm now 3 days into the second one.
It seems a very severe reaction to me, and odd to have such a big and fast moving infection both times, could this be an allergic reaction?
My concern is that I know if an adult has a few moderate allergic reactions, they are on the way to anaphylaxis next time. So should I make an appt with the gp and push for allergy testing? Or does this in fact sound like a normal reaction and I'm just inexperienced?
Thanks for any thoughts!
