My DS was chewing on the bottle and somehow got the lid opened and as he was chewing some went in/around his mouth, I wiped it away but my DH is worried about what it contains. I guess it my be fairly safe but then it does say keep out of reach of children??

Not sure if I should contact anyone to get him checked out, he's 22 months

My guess is he will be ok.

anniediv · 21/09/2006 09:28

I would say don't worry, My dds have eaten far worse.

Joolstoo · 21/09/2006 09:28

no he'll be fine - will probably try and eat far worse things in time to come!

expatinscotland · 21/09/2006 09:37

nah, i wouldn't worry about that.

dd1 tried a bit of vaseline once at that age.

must not have tasted good. she never did it again.

mcmum · 21/09/2006 10:19

I would say dont worry they prob eatm far worse things when we arent looking that we dont know about !

TheRealCam · 21/09/2006 10:25

I wouldn't worry

Marina · 21/09/2006 10:27

Agree with the others - it's a worry when they do this (mine scarfed half a tub of Sudocrem , heaven knows why) but I am sure he will be fine. And have a well-moisturised and fragrant digestive system

ScummyMummy · 21/09/2006 10:29

I ate a v delicious tub of lemon face cream my mum had been given as a gift when I was way old enough to know better and am still alive to tell the tale.

Marina · 21/09/2006 10:31

But that piece of info does explain a great deal scumstrel

TheRealCam · 21/09/2006 10:31

I sthat why you're yellow Scummymummy

ScummyMummy · 21/09/2006 10:32

Rah! You cheeky minxes you!

nicand2 · 21/09/2006 10:43

Thanks everyone, my mind is at ease and DS is happily watching cbeebies whilst wolfing down a bourbon so there doesn't seem to be any lasting effects.

I have posted before about the howls of laughter coming out of the receiver from NHS Direct when I rang quaveringly to ask if a fistful of Sudocrem would poison ds pamina.
Great laxative though

ScummyMummy · 21/09/2006 11:04

At least yours weren't stupid enough to eat airfix glue. Aged four ffs! That was v scary.

My DD is passionate about body cream - any brand, she likes soap too, so far seems to be thriving - obviously don't encourage her to eat it but I'm not going to discourage her moisturising/washing herself - that's what I tell myself she's doing

Congrats on keeping him away from the stuff for 22 months
