i'm still harping on about piles. had huuuuge ones post-birth which have lurked threateningly ever since. they decided to reappear last night and have been getting worse throughout the day. anusol cream hasn't helped (although i noticed it's past its expiry date so probably doing feck all).

pur-lease can anyone give me words of wisdom beyond salt baths / anusol? has anyone ever had piles (gulp) 'banded'?

it huuu-urts

have you tried teh hot hot flannel? seriously hot as you can bear (obviously i do not want to see you posting about 3rd degree burns).

otherwise go to teh doctor you sound in misery.

you don't want to hear this but I have some and it is nearly 5 yrs since I last gave birth

they don't hurt at all though - a long time ago, I was given this absolutely fab foam/gel stuff that you stick up your backside in a sort of applicator. It may have begun with a P - I remember someone else mentioning it. It was absolutely fab and since then, even though they are still there, they are much smaller and not bothering me at all.

I would go back to GP. I'll see if I can find out what that stuff was called.

ok without being really gross, do you get the stingy felling that the cream is working when applied? if out of date might have lost it's energy a bit. I must admit have found the cream great so if that dosnt work might be a case for the Doctor.

the suppositories are what you need
Grim but they knock spots of counter bought creams.
Go to your GP immediatement!
Ps my grandad had his banded/cauterised
5 days agony but lasting results

Proctosedyl - that's what I had. I got it on prescription and it was marvellous!

foxinsocks · 20/09/2006 20:25

def worth letting the GP have a look though

Tutter · 20/09/2006 20:48

at letting gp (or anyone) have a look.

think proctosedyl what i had prescribed after ds's birth, but i found anusol more effective then.

ok. will reluctantly return to my gp and have a wee chat...

anyone any ideas how i can explain to my personal trainer that i can't go for a run???

the faces are because i can't believe that i'm having to return to the world of warm baths and sports bottle, 16 months after giving birth. what will it be like if i have another baby?!
