Anyone had ca 125 blood test?

Hi I have recently been diagnosed with an 8 cm dermoid cyst. The gynaecologist told me it's most likely benign but I need to have blood tests to rule out malignancy and an MRI scan then they will look at surgery to remove it. I'm only 19! I'm terrified I have ovarian cancer :(

Yes, I had one when I had a cyst when pregnant, I'm sure you will be fine, but won't stop you worrying .

Yes, I have had them regularly for years and the result is consistently 4-5 times higher than 'normal' (endimetriosis). Try not to worry, even if ca125 is too high it doesn't necessarily mean that there is malignancy or that you have ovarian cancer.

If you have never had an MRI scan it helps to watch a couple of youtube videos just to prepare yourself, it is very noisy.

What will happen if it comes back high? Will I have surgery ASAP to remove it?
