bleeding between periods

I had ds 8 months ago, started having periods again 2 months ago. I'm on the mini pill. The problem is that although i'm having periods, I'm also getting bleeding in between, sometimes just a random gush of blood like a period starting then nothing else, sometimes light bleeding for a day or two. This is happening 2 or 3 times a month. Is it just my cycle settling down again or what? I've been getting cramps with it.

the mini pill can cause unpredictable periods and mid cycle bleeding. It may or may not improve. Which mini pill is it?

There are different ones you can try if you arent happy with the one you are using e.g. I used femulen and micronor and both gave me periods every 2 weeks whereas cerazette stopped my periods completely
