I will probably be starting chemo next month. Any advice?

Just that really. I don't have any visible cancer left in me after surgery but as my ovary burst as it came out they recommend preventative chemo.

I have two kids and a supportive husband. 9 year old has asd. Anyone willing to share experiences?

Pop over to the Tamoxigang (think its on thread 50 at the moment) they have loads of advise.

Sorry that you're going through this, you'd be very welcome on the tamoxifen thread ( not just for breast cancer) as a lot of us have been through chemo. Most of us have found that whilst it's not nice it's doable and these days there are things they can do to reduce all of the side effects. Stock up on ginger biscuits etc, accept any help you can and rest when you need to would be my initial advice

It can take lots of different forms with lots of different reactions - I've known people feel ok, just a bit tired, and, unfortunately I've also know people be quite poorly. Most seem to depend where they are in their cycle of chemo.
I'd definitely second (third?) the suggestion of looking for the Tamixfen thread over in General Health - it's just a community of folk who have been through, or who are starting on the journey of cancer treatment or just diagnosis or even just testing. They will hold your hand and offer you virtual treats, as well as being very knowledgeable about anything you might want to ask.
Glad to hear it's looking clear though Smile

I think reaction and what to expect depends what chemo cocktail you are on .
The Tamoxifen thread though it does have the odd other cancer type is mainly about breast cancer .
