Sarcoma in lower leg?

Hello everyone
I have a hard lump on my calf where the Achilles' tendon and calf muscle join the bone. It is only visible and able to be felt when I squat. My gp and sports physio say it is unusual but tried to reassure me it was nothing sinister. However, it does not fit the description of anything Achilles related or anything cyst like. The nearest descriptor is a hernia. I am terribly worried it may be a sarcoma. I'm going back to gp tomorrow and am prepared to pay for a private mri scan ASAP. If anyone has had one of these, would you mind telling me which questions I should ask gp and/which scan might be best? It's not my usual gp I am seeing as she is on holiday-normally I would discuss these options with her. I'm 37 and have recently taken up interval training with notice previous exercise.
Thank you

I had what I thought was an Achilles' tendon problem but again my lump was about an inch above normal site. The hospital consultant remarked about it when she put the steroid injection in, saying it was unusual but didn't come up with another suggestion as to what it was.

Ewing's Sarcoma normally affects younger people, ds (13) was recently suspected of having it. So given that you are in your 30's I would have thought that unlikely , though I am not sure if there are other types.

An x-ray can give an idea if Ewing's is present, do you think you can ask your doctor to send you for one ?

Thank you-that is reassuring! Did you have typical Achilles pain etc with yours? Did they do any scans to confirm it, and has your lump gone?! Sorry for a million questions-am in a right tizzy!

I just had a steroid jab and one session of physiotherapy ( nightmare to get any more!!)
I got pregnant not long after and pain and lump completely disappeared and has never returned and she is now 10!
The lump was painful touch and I found walking painful and going downstairs was uncomfortable.
Go back to doctors and ask for an x-ray.
