Student temporary patient

DD needed GP treatment during uni holidays last week. She registered as a temporary patient with our family practice where she was treated before going away but was told to come back when she has finished the course of medecine (3 weeks). Practice manager says registration only lasts for 2 weeks and NHS choices website saying 3 months is wrong. She can't reregister as a temporary patient as they do not allow more than one temporary registration - she needs to reregister permanently to get a follow up appointment. She will then need to reregister permanently wth the student health service once she goes back in October. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems unecessarily bureaucratic to me!

no..sounds like the practice manager is making her own rules.. the NHS web site says up to 3 months, so I would print off the info and challenge her!

My DD1 is home..on and off for the summer and she registered as a temp patient because she needed treatement ..that was 3 weeks ago, and she just had a phone appointment where they sorted out her regular meds (asthma etc) for the summer... no one has mentioned her not being able to be seen..and it's defo 3 months on the guidelines!
