Had a bit of abnormal bleeding (bit tmi)

Hi im 28 and my periods are normally very regular, same day every month and usually start with a day of bloody discharge, then 2-3 days medium flow with another day of discharge to finish with. Pretty normal I think.

My last period was slightly heavier than usual and I passed a few small clots but it ended four days ago.

Last night I woke up feeling quite wet down below and actually though id wet myself but it was blood, quite watery but bright red and quite a bit of it. Just seemed to come out of nowhere I never normally bleed after my period has finished and I normally have the discharge warning sign. Im still bleeding slightly today.

Does anyone have any ideas? Theres no way I could be pregnant and im not on any contraception at the minute (been single for 2 years)

Don't know what it is but it might be wise to pop to the the GP to ask - can't do any harm and if it is a symptom of something you'll catch it nice and early. It could just be "one of those things" though, so don't worry too much.

Thanks for response fish, the bleeding stopped really quickly so think il put it down to one of those things, keep an eye on it and if it happens again il pop to GP.
