I'm struggling.
I've phoned my Dr's every morning for a week and been unsuccessful. No appointments available. Try tomorrow.
The pain is where my 2nd toe meets the ball of my foot.
sometimes it's a shooting pain. sometimes it's add if a splinter is deep inside and being aggravated by walking.
Ibuprofen helps.

I'm of on holiday in 2 weeks and will really struggle to do much walking unless it improves significantly.

Is not Plantar fascieitis (sp) as I've had that in the past.

I've Google it and diagnosed myself with Metatarsalgia.

I doubt it's Gout.
It bloody hurts.

Try googling Morton neuroma. My sil had it and it sounds similar

It could be a mortons neuroma, a bursitis or a tendinitis. Any number of things really. Im afraid you wont get any joy from your GP. Metatarsalgia is probably what they will tell you too. Its just a generic term to describe forefoot pain.
Get thee to a Podiatrist Borntobeamum
In the meantime, keep taking the anti inflammatories and you could consider a pair of orthotics, they will help most types of forefoot pain.
