Hi all, hoping to get some advice, I don't know what to do. NC'd for this post.

Been having pain in my upper teeth/cheekbone for about 8 months now. Dentist says its not teeth (2 x rays done), doctor says it is probably sinuses but hasn't actually looked into it. Had a blood test which was fine, was due x ray at hospital to check for sinus blockage but cancelled by hospital because they didn't think it would help(?) Have been prescribed 5 lots of antibiotics in that time and have been on progressively stronger painkillers. Am now taking cocodamol 30/500 alternating with neurofen every 3 hours. They are doing nothing. Pain has gotten to the point last night/today that I can't think properly, my eye is constantly streaming, I feel like I'm going to scream.

Called 111 a few weeks back with the same prob. They told me to take paracetamol (!) basically useless. Spoke to GP next day and got the cocodamol which helped for a while. Now at the point where the pain is unbearable again.

Do I go to a&e and wait for help? I dunno what they'll do to help me but I can't take another second. Feel like one side of my face is on fire. Can't believe how much it hurts.

Advice appreciated, literally desperate for help. Am in constant agony. Just need it to stop hurting.

Have you tried over the counter decongestants in conjunction with hot compresses, massage or steam? The massage needs to Bo quite firm and may hurt a bit. Olbas oil in a steamer with a piece that fits over the mouth and nose can be good. You can get them from Boots. I find that all of these help although the massage isn't fun.

Get a sinus washout.

I have a flare up about once a week and it's agony unless I do my washouts regularly.

I bought mine via Amazon and it's called Neilmed. They send you the sachets to make the saline up too. Use cooled, boiled water then warm it up prior to use. It's very soothing and will relieve the pain.

Been where you are! In fact lost a tooth to it (my dentist wouldn't say it wasn't my teeth)

You need to see ent specialist and have an mri scan. Then they can see clearly.

I had health insurance that kicked in on referal so it took 2 weeks from appointment to op to clear them(massive polps in there) but i don't know about nhs

Hi all. Thank you for the advice! It turns out I have trigeminal neuralgia. I've been posting about it here as I got desperate for help!

MrsExcited, sorry you lost a tooth. Looking it up, it seems lots of TN sufferers have lost teeth because of a false diagnosis from dentists.
