Maybe he is teething or coming down with a cold. My ds always goes off his food a couple of days before either is noticable. HTH

kiwisbird · 02/04/2004 13:22

sounds like he might be coming down with something mummy?
Don't worry babies are fine without food... so long as he drinks a little bit and often he'll be fine, let him guide you
xx

there is a rota virus going round at the moment mummy, my dd has it and has not eaten solids in 8 days, and vomits 3 x a day and sleeps all day and night. She is not dehydrated I worry sick about her but she is just poorly and needs rest and little sips of sugary water for energy.
It might not be this bug but it sounds very similar to how dd was before she got ill...

mummytojames · 02/04/2004 13:42

thanks kiwi i will surgest this to the doc to see if there is anything we can do to nip it in the bud before it gets to bad i hope you dd gets better soon is there anything a doc can do about it or did he say just rest

nothing they can do sadly.... sleep, drink, spew... they get over it quickly enough afterwards, its very common. try not to worry

Hi mummytojames,
I'm sorry to hear that things are not improving.I don't really know what to suggest as we are still struggling to get dd to eat.

Dd did a similar thing when she would scream at the sight of her bottle-it got so bad that I only had to sit her on my lap for her to start getting upset,as she thought I was trying to feed her.My hv suggested we cut the number of bottles right down & it worked. She started to get excited at the sight of her bottle & would drink it with less fuss.I don't know if just offering your ds one meal a day until he gets better would help?

I think you are doing the right thing by going to the Dr's.Poor little chap.I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing this.
