Sickness & Diarrhoea

So I woke at 11pm last night with sickness & full on Diarrhoea, has lasted ALL day. Lone parent so thankfully my amazing parents came round & looked after my 8 month old DS.

I do feel slightly better now, can actually keep water down but still have Diarrhoea bad.

Anyway ... My worry is (yes I panic at everything) is what are the chances of DS getting it? I don't know how I'll cope?!! ... I don't know if I've had a bug, Norovirus or just ate something rank, but I feel effing horrific!!

Can anyone just maybe put my mind at rest or tell me that if my little man does get it I'll just have to deal with it!

Hopefully after me having a good nights rest tonight I should feel ok tomorrow

You poor thing... I had norovirus before Christmas, and I felt ghastly for quite a while. Nobody else in the household got it, thank god. We were absolutely scrupulous about hygiene, including separate hand towels and A LOT of hand washing! Also, frequent cleaning of the bathroom, and we cleared all the usual bathroom clutter out of there to minimise potential contamination.

It's not a bad idea to get your son on a daily probiotic yoghurt... And you too for a couple of weeks, once you can face it again: helps to rebuild your gut flora and protect against further infections.

Get well soon!

Thank you! .. Yep defo was Norovirus

Thankfully he's been ok, so far ... Keeping fingers crossed.

I'm carrying Milton wipes around the house with me, I'd hate for him to feel as dreadful as I did :(

Good idea about yoghurt!!! Can I give him normal plain probiotic yoghurt at 8mths? ... Sorry if stupid question!!!!

Oh crikey, I skipped over the fact that your son was so little... That makes the norovirus even less fun!

But yeah, I think it's ok for babies to have a bit of plain, whole milk yoghurt at that age, assuming he isn't lactose intolerant.
