Breast Cancer Symptoms

I'm seeing the doctor today as I have a huge lump in my breast (so much so it's altered the shape) that I've stupidly ignored for a couple of months.

I can feel pain there / am very aware of it when I breathe, can feel it under my arm and feel generally quite achy and tired.

Has anyone else had this and been okay?

Good luck, I think everyone is different I was feeling great when I was diagnosed. I had a "cyst" which I was told I had nothing to worry about but it was BC.

You are doing the right thing and hope you are OK.

Thanks... I've been referred to the Royal Marsden. He said I'll get a phone call today to go one day next week.

It's quite sore and he thinks 4-5 cm. I'm googling and panicking... (Google is never a good idea!)

It could well be a cyst but you need to discuss with the doctor and be referred to the breast clinic. GPs can't diagnose BC but you can get an urgent referral and be seen in 2 weeks by the breast unit where you will have a mammogram, ultrasound and (possibly) a biopsy.

I've had achy, painful lumpy bits and been fine - but either way, you did the right thing going to get it looked at. The waiting for tests is the pits though, and I thoroughly recommend the wondrous Tamoxigang thread as they held my hand on several occasions and make it all feel more possible, iyswim.

Will be thinking of you xx

Cross posted, but do join us on the Tamoxifen thread (in General Health) if you want to chat about this. We are all very friendly!

I meant Tamoxigang thread! It is for anyone with cancer, awaiting results, have friends/relatives with cancer etc and you don't need to take Tamoxifen.
Choice of refreshments and cake always available!

Thanks Smile I have 2% battery at the moment but will join you as soon as I locate my charger! (Too much googling!)

curiousgeorgie try not to Google and no internet searches. Hopefully you will have nothing to worry about but every case is different. Try to keep busy, running took my mind off waiting for test results.

I am doing well so far 5 years this months since I was diagnosed.

Do not rely on Dr Google - he is years out of date and a scare monger. Use Macmillan website or breast cancer care website or similar!
