its not a sore throat but it hurts to swallow. been coming on for a few daysbut not like a sore throat. its like my adams apple is too big? could it be something serios - i am panicking

could it be a fish bone or something? If so, eat lots of dry bread and that might shift it...

if I had an adam's apple I'm sure I'd have a sore throat too

Its probably a swollen gland caused by a cold germ. You will most likely get a full blown cold in a few days, or you will fight it off and it will go. If it doesn't go, though, see the doc.

Just check it out at the doctors if you can.
It may be a swollen thyroid...that feels like you have swallowed something and it hasnt gone down.

Notanotter, do you think it might be acid reflux? That can give symptoms of a 'lumpy' throat?
