Advice please- DH and TMI

We are in France. Last night visited a restaurant and DH ordered steak tartar. Has never had it before. Since around 6 he has been on the toilet non stop with diarrhea. Took 2 pepto tablets (all we have) and that stopped it for a couple hours while we went to eat (he did eat). Since we've been back (an hour) he's back in the toilet non stop. Has now taken the last pepto tablet we have. Of course France doesn't "do" anything 24 hour...any suggestions? And also, is this likely food poisoning or travelers diarrhea? Am reading rather alarming things on google!!!

It must be food poisoning.

Is it just diarrhoea, not vomiting as well? If so, keeping his fluids up is all he can do. Hopefully you can get some rehydration sachets, but if not, something like flat Coke will do.

Just diarrhea. Started about 18 hours after eating it. Says he feels like the pepto has finally kicked in and stopping him up now at least!

Still having diarrhea every hour. Why do they even serve raw steak???

just have to let it 'run' its course really and keep him hydrated.

We are meant to be traveling back to the uk today

can you find medication with loperamide in it as it is supposed to help stop diarrhoea (its the active ingredient in anti-diarrhoea tablets)

Yes will be looking for some in local pharmacy. It's his only hope!
