Fainting , days before period due

Can anyone advise me? My dd (14) fainted today. She is due her period this week. Is this a common thing? Someone atschool suggested magnesium? anyone else any ideas?

Hi,don't know but my ddalso 14 has fainted a few times in the past and I think it might be at the same time as yours ,will watch this thread.

Hi there grales... I used to faint during mine at around the same age and was sent home from school on numerous occasions (sp?)

Thanks megandsoph, i have heard it is quite common, can i stop it with diet, vitamins etc or do you just grow out of it

hey. just to say i still do. its very odd, no-one evr took it seriously. i always assumed it was a deficiency. but, and tis is a serious point, i dont drive etcc around that time. and i guess it follows that she shouldnt be up a climbing frame, or i dont know, equivalent 14 yr old things. i fell down the stairs a coupld of times. but i'm guessing staying on the ground floor is out of the question...

Luckily she was at home in kitchen but i do worry what if it had happened at school on those flights of stairs

grales I just grew out of it around 15ish if I rememeber correctly
