Are these palpitations?

The best way I can describe it is like butterflies in my chest rather than my stomach. It comes and goes. I'm under a lot of stress at the moment so I think it's anxiety based. I have a horrible headache as well. Is it palpitations or just general anxiety feelings. I don't think I've had this before even when under similar stress.

Thanks HopefulMum. No I'm not on any medication. I can't say it feels like my heart is actually pounding. I think it feels more like a sort of adrenaline rush in my chest but quite an extreme one compared to a normal 'butterfly tummy' feeling. I'm pretty convinced it's stress related. Sorry to hear of your heart issues Sad makes mine seem pretty silly really. Thanks

The other thing about it is it makes me want to take deep breaths, again probably pointing to it being adrenaline.

I was having a lot of palpitations a while ago. It turned out I had high blood pressure. Now I am on meds, they have just about stopped.

The blood pressure is almost certainly linked to stress and anxiety in my case.

Thanks Tilly. If they continue I will go to gp.
