Lactating but not pregnant (???)

Hi! Please help me as this is driving me potty. I've had my period a week ago, stop bf 2.5 years ago and kept getting whiffs of milk all day today. The same smell as when I was bf and had aleak... Has this happened too anyone else and do you know why? Also, I'm taking Setraline, be related? TIA

Get your prolactin levels checked via a blood test at the doctors. Anti depressants (and the contraceptive pill) can cause a rise in prolactin. You can take drugs to bring the levels back down.

Yes. Lactation is a known, if rare and weird, side effect of taking anti-ds. I nearly freaked out when I started lactating as a 16 yo depressed virgin I don't think it's a side effect that's widely known about among med professionals, but I did a sneaky journal review once I was at uni (where there was a pharmacy school, so had the right journals) and confirmed the connection.
