What bread is the healthiest?

I'm going a bit round in circles to discover which bread is the healthiest option.

100%wholegrain? Rye? Sourdough? None of these?

And, if a bakers isn't always an option, which is the best 'mass produced' one in your opinion?

Even open to good recipes to make healthy bread at home (no breadmaker)

Thanks!

Wholemeal is the highest in terms of fibre....

Do you eat a lot of bread, TBW?

ThatBloodyWoman · 14/07/2014 16:40

Thanks Shakka.
I would definitely go with wholemeal over white or brown, but I just wonder if I could do better than that even.

niger I try not to, but I do enjoy it, so I at least want to try to make sure its as good an option as I can realistically get.

I believe rye bread is healthier than wheat. (Also not an expert!)

If you have coeliacs, then 'Genius' loaves!

Not sure if wholemeal is always that digestible really, whether a coeliac or not.
