Gallbladder scan

Misslgl88 · 12/07/2014 18:18

So today I had an ultrasound to check my gallbladder, the tech said nothing the whole way through and then at the end said id have to wait 7-10 days to get results from my dr. I just wondered if anyone else who has had gallbladder scans in the UK had to wait to hear or did your tech tell you there and then it was stones? I'm terrified it's something serious and no one is telling me anything I'm so upset

Thanks for any input ladies

The tech also said nothing when I had my scan. I had to chase my GP for results (it was gallstones). Try not to worry.

Thanks ever so much for the reassurance, I just keep telling myself if it was something really serious then they surely wouldn't make me wait over a week for results :-/

Oh when I looked back I saw the screen and there was little red arrows/marks on some of the pictures?

I had a right old misery when I had my scan in 2005. He said nothing so I asked him if I def had gall stones and he just replied 'yes'. He didn't say anything else the entire time.

See that's where I went wrong I should have asked but after reading other exoeriences a lot of then actually said if you had them. Confusing. I'm just so worried. But surely if there was anything suspicious they wouldn't make mr wait so long?

Really try not to worry. My mum also had a scan and engaged the tech in conversation and was told details about her gallstones, I wish I'd done the same.
I would think if it's anything more serious then you would be told a lot sooner.

Yes I said that to my partner afterwards, I think I just got myself so worried I couldn't speak!

Did you see your ultrasound pictures?

I asked and was told I had gallstones. I was at A & E so I would have found out the same day but the tech told me.

I didn't see the ultrasound pictures, although I did see the pictures of my gallbladder op and I've got my gallstones in a jar on the shelf!

Misslgl88 · 12/07/2014 23:06

Yeah I'm assuming I have to wait as it was an outpatient appointment.

Come to think of it I'm sure my nana has her in a jar somewhere!

I had loads of small ones, a large one and an absolutely huge one - far too impressive not to keep!

ChablisLover · 13/07/2014 09:01

I was told they can't tell you as they only scan and don't diagnose

Didn't get to keep mine either - the surgeon just said they were impressive.

Harry1603 · 13/07/2014 17:10

I didn't ask for mine, they just gave them to me when I came round!
