Vulval lumps

Please help, I'm beside myself with worry
Have always been prone to bouts of thrush but decided to clear the problem by applying neat TCP and neat lavender oil to the vulval area.

Have now got blistery black and white lumps on labia and the doctor when she examined me said I have a tear to skin near clitoris

I'm being referred to the vulval cancer clinic so am sick with worry

Any advice would be appreciated

That sounds really scary.. Maybe a trip to the STI clinic in the meantime.. not to check for STIs but there's very little they haven't seen before and might be able to offer you some reassurence even.

Good luck with it, it sounds like a horrible time :(

I imagine that the blisters will be from the neat tcp and essential oils you applied. You should never apply neat essential oils to Mucus membranes and tcp, Christ, I'm wincing just thinking about it.

I would recommend Epsom salt baths to try and heal the tear and blisters. You can get the salts from most chemists.

For next bout of thrush try about 10 drops of tea tree oil into your bath and take probiotics

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. Vulval cancer is very rare and this seems to be more likely to be a result of the tcp/oil. Good luck

Taffy, did you tell the doctor that you'd put neat TCP and lavender oil directly on your vulva? I'd agree with XiCi they might well cause blisters, but if your doctor knew about that and thought the oil/TCP was the cause then presumably she would have given you some local treatments.

My dh recently had a cancer scare, so I am very sympathetic to your anxiety. Hope the referral comes throguh quickly and is reassuring.

I just told the GP I had thrush, she gave me fluconazole and did a swab which confirmed thrush. Things do feel better down there
