***URGENT**** Silica Gel

I thought my day couldn't get any worse but now my kids have just decided to eat silica gel

Does anyone know how dangerous it is or side effects as I now have to wait up to 45 mins for nhs direct to call back as the triage nurse at the surgery didn't think it was a problem but nhs direct would have a lit of harmful substances

Apparently it's fine - do a search on it as someone's child ate some not long ago.

No its not toxic - won't do amy harm.
The only real danger is from choking on the lumps

Think this is the 3rd case in the last few weeks !!

Have stopped panicing so much now!

Wow, I'm so pleased i'm not the only one who's child has eaten silica gel. Found DS happily chewing away on a pack a few months ago and spent days worrying about it and feeling like the worse mum in the world. He was fine though.
