Internal vaginal itch

I am at the end of my tether! For quite some time, I've had an itch come and go which I've always just treated with thrush treatments. I've been to the doctor and had swabs taken on three separate occasions, all of which are clear for thrush or BV.

The itch is not external, it's deeper inside my vagina (sorry for the detail, I'm really cringing now). I haven't got the tell-tale creamy discharge that usually accompanies thrush. It's actually quite mucousy at the moment, kind of like ewcm when TTC (I'm 8 weeks postpartum), but I got that tested and it was fine too!

Ive googled and I can only find people talking about a vulval itch - but this isn't that, like I said, it's deeper inside. Going to go back to the docs (again!) but just looking for some ideas as to what this is!

I'm sorry your so uncomfortable, it really is horrible.
I would recommend going to your local gum clinic rather than your GP, it's usually easier to get an appointment for a start, and they probably know a lot more about itchy vaginas than your GP.

Ooh thank you - so I can go to a gum clinic for this type of thing? I thought it was only for STIs, etc (which I know isn't the prob, had screening in my pregnancy) I will definitely do this if so, I feel like my GP is kind of clueless

It can cause itching inside the vagina and the cervix.

You can go for any kind of down below thing or even just a check up. I would go along, they are the best people to discuss your bits with.

as hard as it is though, try to leave around 3 hours between washing your down below and your appointment so if there is any kind of thing going on it'll show on any tests.

I thought the same How, but no they are there for all sorts of itches.

I found them really helpful, they try to fit people in 48 hours after making an appointment, it was much easier than waiting around for a GP.

Are you BFing? I had this with my first child and it was associated with BFing and got better after a few months. Really uncomfortable at the time tho.
