Medication overuse headache

Wondering if anyone has any experience of this? I am on day 8 of stopping paracetamol/ibuprofen for head/jaw ache. I feel bloody awful and have had a headache almost all day every day. Any glimmer of hope as to when I will feel human again .

Sorry to hear that. Did you go cold turkey? That is usually the (rather brutal) way of doing it. You will feel wretched..but it does get better (if that, indeed, is the cause of your headache) and other causes should always be eliminated.

If it's 8 days then it should have stopped by now. Maybe you should go visit your dentist so he/she can check your jaw issues then your GP.

I take a lot of codeine and have to stop every now and then to sort my dependance/tolerance and it only ever takes 3 days for the makey on pain the body does to go.

You probably should find out why you have jaw/headache.

I did go cold turkey. God knows what causes the pain. Have had a head scan, dental x-rays & a bite guard in case I grind my teeth. Today has actually been the worst so far. I will go to gp next week as the thought of a) going to work feeling like this and/or b) feeling like this any longer is making me quite depressed. Thanks for replies.
